Tax & Annual accounts
External appendices
There are various ways to add external attachments:
Option 1: Drag and drop
The quickest way to add a background is to use the mouse pointer.
- Select one or more files on your computer.
- Drag and drop the files directly onto the account or account group to which they belong.
- If the account does not have any previous attachments, a new external attachment is created automatically.
- If there are already attachments, you can choose whether to create a completely new attachment or add the files to an existing one.
When you drop files on an account group of if no account is selected, the appendix will be linked to the account group.
Option 2: Use the paperclip icon
You can also add attachments via the menus in Tax & Annual accounts.
- At the year-end or period closing, go to the Overview or Appendices view.
- Click on the paperclip icon next to the relevant account.
- Select Add appendix.
- Select the files you want to upload and confirm.
Important restrictions and formats
There are certain restrictions on file uploads:
- Number of files: Maximum 12 files per appendix.
- File size: Maximum 10 MB per file.
- Number of pages: Pdf, Word and Excel files can contain a maximum of 100 pages.
- Excel cells: Excel files are limited to 500,000 cells.
- File formats: We support pdf, Word, Excel, and common image files. We also check that the file's contents match its file extension (e.g. that a .pdf is indeed a pdf file).
-
Protected files: If you have uploaded a password-protected or encrypted pdf file along with other files, printing will not work. You need to remove the password protection from the file before uploading it again.
Note that if you download a Word or Excel file for editing, you must remove the old file before you upload the updated version.
Manage your attachments
Once you have uploaded your files, there are several smart features for managing them:
- Link to multiple accounts: You can link the same attachment to several different accounts, even if they belong to different account groups.
- Preview: Instead of downloading the file, you can click on the image icon to the right of the link to view the content directly on your screen.
- Download: Click on the file name to download the document to your computer.
- Editing files: If you need to make changes to a Word or Excel file, download it, make your changes, and then delete the old version before uploading the new one.
- Delete: Click on the trash can next to a file to delete it.
- Copy to next period: If you choose to copy an appendix to a future period, all uploaded files will automatically follow.
