Tax & Annual accounts
Set up data source
You normally set the data source in the start guide. If nothing has been selected during the initial setup, click the button Setup data source at the top of the page to select it.
You can always change the data source from Maintenance - Settings - Data source. From here, you can also monitor the progress of an ongoing import.
With all data sources, except Manual Entry, you can export your accounting data to a SIE4 file. Learn more about this under the section Export data.

It's not possible to change from SIE file to manual entry, only to Bookkeeping & Invoicing
SIE (short for "Standard Import och Export"), is a Swedish, standardised file format designed to simplify the transfer of financial information. It can be used for exchanging data between different programs, i.e. between an ERP system and a tax declaration program or between programs from different software providers. It is developed and maintained by the SIE group. The SIE format standard is coordinated with the BAS chart of accounts and Skatteverket's sru codes.
There are 4 types of SIE files.
- Type 1 (SIE1): Annual balances. The file format contains the year's opening and closing balances for all accounts in the chart of accounts. This SIE format is intended primarily for transfer to tax programs.
- Type 2 (SIE2): Periodic balances, contains in addition to all basic data from type 1 also monthly balance changes for all accounts.
- Type 3 (SIE3): Object balances. The file format is identical to type 2, but balances are also available at dimension/object level, such as cost centres and projects.
- Type 4 (SIE4): Transactions. Type 4 is divided into two subtypes. One for exporting transactions from accounting programs and one for importing transactions into accounting programs.

About switching data sources
Switching between SIE file and Bookkeeping & Invoicing or vice versa
- All previous periods, except year-end, are permanently locked. A change in July will lock Jan-June (if in a regular calendar year).
It's not possible to go back and unlock these periods afterwards.
-
If you have selected SIE1 file as data source, it is not possible to change to Manual entry. It can only be changed to a "bigger" data source such as SIE4 or Bookkeeping & Invoicing.
-
If you have switched the data source from SIE1, it is not possible to switch back.
- Information that you have added to or from the period from which you change the data source will be resetted. In other words, if you start periods after March, then start March and change the data source, all the information you added in or after March will be resetted.
- Data in old periods will be in read-only mode.
- On Overview, the Import button for the new data source will be available.
- An item in the activity log is created documenting when the change was made, in what period and by whom.
- When clicking Export closing entries from Closing entries, the closing entries will be exported to the new data source - Bookkeeping & Invoicing or a SI file.
Switching from Manual entry to SIE file / Bookkeeping & Invoicing
Manual entry can only be specified as a data source when running the start-up wizard. It is not possible to switch to Manual entry afterwards.
-
If the period is ongoing, the change of data source will be applied at the start of next year.
-
If a year is only created but not yet started, the year that is not started will be deleted and on the Startpage, the Import button for SIE file or Bookkeeping & Invoicing will be visible.
-
Years where manual entry was applied will keep manual entry as data source. Future years will have the new data source.
Switch between SIE4 and SIE1
-
If you have selected SIE1 from the start, you can switch the data source to SIE4.
-
If you have initially selected SIE4, you cannot switch to SIE1. You will then need to reset the company and start again from scratch with SIE1.
